*&#@! Tourists!

On top of all the schools being on vacation for Easter it is now Cherry Blossom Festival time in DC, which has led to an influx of tourists, and an increase in annoying people on the Metro every morning.

Tourists never understand that standing in the middle of the doorway prevents people from getting on and off of the train. They also find it amusing when their children either take up two seats or run back and forth on the train. What is particularly annoying is when parents play along while their children repeat every announcement on the Metro, like "Doors closing" or ask repetitively "When are we getting off, daddy?" I also do not understand why large groups of tourists insist on standing at the bottom of the escalators, instead of walking down the platform, or why they insist on standing on both sides of the escalator, when clearly people are trying to walk up the left side.

I know this sounds rather mean of me and not very tolerant, especially since I've only lived here since August, but people, please.... get a clue!!!
